Leadership is not positional. Lead from where you sit.
This was one of the summary statements from a session at the UW-Madison that Campus Supervisors Network sponsored this week. This is so important to reiterate, because all too often people feel as if they don’t have the power or authority to lead. I stress this with my workmates all the time – one is not a leader because of title, but because of their actions. Everyone should be empowered to lead in areas they have knowledge of and can benefit others by their actions. Agree?
