“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change”. – Charles Darwin
Applying Darwin’s quote, we can:
1. Cultivate responsive leadership: Develop leaders who listen, adapt, and respond to changing climate conditions and human needs.
2. Emphasize empathy and compassion: Encourage understanding and action for the well-being of people and nature.
3. Foster a culture of adaptability: Support continuous learning, innovation, and resilience in the face of climate change.
4. Prioritize planetary stewardship: Recognize our responsibility to protect the planet and its resources for future generations.
5. Embrace diversity and inclusivity: Celebrate diverse perspectives, skills, and experiences to address climate change challenges.
6. Nurture a growth mindset: Encourage experimentation, learning from failure, and continuous improvement.
7. Develop climate literacy and education: Educate individuals about climate change causes, impacts, and solutions.
8. Support climate change research and innovation: Advance our understanding of climate science and develop innovative solutions.
9. Encourage sustainable lifestyles and practices: Model and promote eco-friendly habits, reduce waste, and conserve resources.
10. Foster global cooperation and collective action: Unite individuals, organizations, and nations to address the global climate crisis.
By applying these principles, we can develop humans and leaders who care for people, nature, and the planet, ensuring a resilient and sustainable future. Let’s cultivate responsive leaders and adapt to protect our planet together!

The Motivation Myth: How High Achievers Really Set Themselves Up to Win
From Inc.com’s most popular columnist, a counterintuitive–but highly practical–guide to finding and maintaining the motivation to achieve great things.
It’s comforting to imagine that superstars in their fields were just born better equipped than the rest of us. When a co-worker loses 20 pounds, or a friend runs a marathon while completing a huge project at work, we assume they have more grit, more willpower, more innate talent, and above all, more motivation to see their goals through.
But that’s not actually true, as popular Inc.com columnist Jeff Haden proves. “Motivation” as we know it is a myth. Motivation isn’t the special sauce that we require at the beginning of any major change. In fact, motivation is a result of the process, not a cause. Understanding this will change the way you approach any obstacle or big goal.
In The Motivation Myth, Haden shows us how to reframe our thinking about the relationship of motivation to success. He meets us at our level–at the beginning of any big goal we have for our lives, a little anxious and unsure about our way forward, a little burned by self-help books and strategies that have failed us in the past—and offers practical advice that anyone can use to stop stalling and start working on those dreams.
Success isn’t for the uniquely qualified; it’s possible for any person who understands the true nature of motivation. Jeff Haden can help you transcend average and make lasting positive changes in your life.

Power Changes the People Around You
There’s an old saying: the higher you rise, the funnier your jokes.
But it’s no joke that power changes you. Holding positional power— regardless of how powerful you feel—alters your perceptions, judgment, and behavior. What many leaders fail to recognize is that how other people respond to your power, also shapes you. People may overvalue your ideas and undervalue theirs. They may give you less honest — and less accurate — feedback. They may be less willing to speak up, trust their perceptions, and take risks.
Julie Diamond’s new article in the Harvard Business Review outlines five slippery traps of power that can undermine your leadership and offers corresponding strategies to free yourself from perilous power dynamics. If you want to strengthen your leadership and ensure that your power is an asset and not a liability, you’ll want to read this one.

When Women May Be Better Negotiators Than Men
Conventional wisdom holds that you should be assertive in zero-sum negotiations—go first and start high. This quality of assertiveness is often associated with men, who are regularly viewed as better-performing negotiators than women.
But women’s bargaining style may be better at preventing negotiations from stalling, says Professor Ashleigh Shelby Rosette of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, an outcome often ignored by researchers, yet one of economic, social, and reputational consequence.
